Andrea Stella does not believe Toto Wolff's claim that Mercedes haven't got the money to bring developments. "I would like to believe you, but I actually don't believe it," the McLaren team principal said after Zandvoort. He pointed to the 2027 power unit regulations, which give teams a cost cap reporting allowance of about $3 million that can be used in 2026 cost cap calculations, and said Mercedes are sure to cash in on development happening in the background. "I'm sure the car in the wind tunnel is quite a bit faster than the car they have on track," Stella said.
